A Playlist for June 2021: The Fellas Have Spoken!

Okay, it’s true that the Queen Sugar union of Ralph Angel and Darla left me feeling a certain kind of way. And immersing myself in Preslaysa Williams’ A Lowcountry Bride only further put me in the mood. I took to the kitchen, made a little gumbo and turned up these tunes. I’ll admit it: I’ve been craving a romantic evening at Dooky Chase, followed by a slice of Vi’s Prized Pies…because no one can flake that crust like Vi can. Enjoy, family.
